Smash Innovations Job Posting: Senior Business Analyst – Cloud

Job Description: A strong, passionate and experienced Senior Business Analyst to manage the business requirements for IT programs. Work with and drive business partners to identify opportunities to streamline enterprise processes, lead business requirements gathering sessions using agile scrum-based methodologies. Manage/refine the product backlog, write user stories (IT product owner) actively participate in testing/QA activities. The candidate will become a member of Smash Innovations IT organization focused on the deployment and support of all applications developed, managed and supported in-house. Candidates will work directly with customers, vendors and key stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems. Candidates should have continuous improvement and Agile training and must understand the basic accounting concepts related to software project costing. Candidates will be responsible for monitoring assigned processes to improve operational productivity, and to ensure process adherence and financial controls exist. Smash Innovations application footprint includes a custom cloud technologies and services built on the Google Cloud platform, Docker, Kubernetes and other supporting PaaS/IaaS/SaaS. There are also multiple applications with varied technologies to support internal business processes, as well as some exciting new software solutions that must be analyzed and defined.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in Information Systems and apply this to the development, execution and Assessment of Implementation and their associated costs
  • Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in Cloud Technologies (for example, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS)
  • Support and align efforts to meet business needs
  • Manage business relationships and expectations by developing a communication process to keep others up-to-date on project results
  • Stay current with business needs and strategies; utilizing formal and informal written communication methods (for example, emails, newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, executive updates, task lists, updates) to communicate updates and findings; and facilitating project meetings and presentations to all types of diverse audiences
  • Lead or participate in multiple projects by completing and updating project scope documentation; managing project scope; adjusting project scope when necessary;
  • Partnering with internal leaders, executive team members, visionaries and external partners to ensure all systems will meet the long-term business strategies
  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; Provide project level analysis – producing required project analysis documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, UAT plan)
  • Identify improvement opportunities (proactive and reactive)
  • Elicit and clearly document business and systems requirements utilizing standard frameworks and methodologies.
  • Assess business process and system gaps as it relates to the overall Business Model
  • Demonstrated fluency in business processes and process differentiation
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize business requirements, including recognizing patterns and conceptualizing processes
  • Understand and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders
  • Serve as a liaison between Operations and IT to assist or gather business requirements needed for system modifications, enhancements and implementations

Qualifications

  • CRM Knowledge and use, proficiency in one or more recognized platform.
  • Demonstrated experience determining the impact on existing business systems when system modifications and/or enhancements occur, creating new processes and/or modifying existing processes in support of new system implementations.
  • Prior experience working with Cloud-based Technologies and Services
  • Demonstrated significant experience in independently determining priorities
  • Demonstrated advanced skills in analyzing complex information and situations independently identify problems and relevant factors, formulate logical conclusions, and recommend and implement alternative solutions.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with senior level management, executives and external partners
  • Exceptional internal and external relationship and team-building skills.
  • Must have experience working on large scale projects and ability to Multi-task across all multiple project assessments
  • Strong project management, ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point, strong relationship building skills & communication skills
  • Strong Communication written & verbal, Technical, Problem Solving, Team Work, Client Management, Business Operations
  • Experience functioning within an Agile-scrum environment; managing backlog items, writing user stories, etc.

Education and Experience Requirements

Job Description: Reporting directly to the Executive Management Team, you will provide executive support in a one-on-one working relationship with Executive Management. You will serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external communications to the Executive Management team. Your duties will include serving as a liaison to the board of directors and senior management, organizing and coordinating executive outreach and external relations efforts and overseeing special projects. You must be creative and enjoy working within a small, entrepreneurial environment that is mission-driven, results-driven and community oriented. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills. Must possess the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. Roles and Responsibilities – Executive Support

  • Complete a broad variety of administrative tasks for the Executive Management Team for Smash Innovations including managing an extremely active calendar, completing expense reports, composing and preparing correspondence that is sometimes confidential, arranging complex and detailed travel plans, itineraries, and agendas, and compiling documents for travel-related meetings.
  • Plan, coordinate and ensure the Executive Management schedule is followed and respected. Provide a “gatekeeper” and “gateway” role, creating win-win situations for direct access to the CEO and Executive team’s time and office.
  • Communicate on behalf of the CEO and Executive team, with Board members, donors, Foundation staff, and others, on matters related to programmatic initiatives.
  • Research, prioritize, and follow up on incoming issues, and concerns addressed to the CEO and Executive team, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature. Determine appropriate course of action, referral, or response.
  • Provide a bridge for smooth communication between the CEO’s office and Executive Management and internal departments while demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility, trust, and support with senior management staff.
  • Work closely and effectively with the CEO and Executive Management to keep them well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities and following up appropriately. Act as a “barometer,” having a sense for the issues taking place in the environment and keeping the CEO and Executive Team updated.
  • Provide leadership to build relationships crucial to the success of the organization. Manage a variety of special projects for the CEO and Executive Team, some of which may have organizational impact.
  • Complete critical aspects of deliverables with a hands-on approach, including drafting acknowledgment letters, personal correspondence, and other tasks that facilitate the CEO and Executive Team’s ability to lead the company effectively.
  • Prioritize conflicting needs; handle matters expeditiously, proactively, and follow-through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.

Board Support and Liaison

  • Serve as the CEO and Executive Team’s administrative liaison to the board of directors

Strategic Initiatives

  • Works with the Strategic Initiatives team in coordinating the CEO’s outreach activities
  • Follows up on contacts made by the CEO, and supports the cultivation of ongoing relationships
  • Edits all, and creates acknowledgment letters from the CEO’s to donors

Qualifications
